When it comes to planning a quick, fun, and slightly indulgent getaway, Las Vegas never lets us down. It’s flashy, chaotic, romantic, and weirdly relaxing—all at the same time. Whether you’re there to celebrate something special or just escape the everyday routine, Vegas has everything you need to feel like you’re living your best life (at least for a few days).

Here’s a peek into some of our favorite things to do when we sneak away for a couples trip to Vegas—from big shows to spa days, late-night slices, and everything in between.

Spectacular Shows

If you go to Vegas and don’t catch a show... did you even go?

Cirque du Soleil: A Must-See

Cirque shows are iconic for a reason. We've seen “O” at the Bellagio, and wow—it’s a full-on water circus dream. The diving stunts alone made our jaws drop. If you're into visuals, acrobatics, and that dramatic Cirque flair, it’s a no-brainer.

Pro tip: These shows range in price (usually between $70–$300), so book early for better seats and deals.

Bruno Mars

We’ve actually seen Bruno Mars twice now at Dolby Live at Park MGM, and honestly? We’d go again tomorrow. He’s the definition of a performer—his voice, his moves, the energy. It's like the perfect date night if your idea of romance includes dancing in your seat and screaming lyrics.

Laugh It Off

Vegas also has a ton of comedy shows—some big names like Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer, and plenty of hidden gems too. A great option for slower nights, and it’s such a fun way to laugh and unwind together.

Where We Ate (A Lot)

Vegas is basically a playground for food lovers. From fancy multi-course meals to greasy late-night bites, we fully embraced it all.

Fancy Dinner Vibes

If you’re going all out for a romantic evening, Carbone at Aria is our top pick. The old-school Italian vibes, the spicy rigatoni, the table-side Caesar salad? Yes, please. It's upscale without feeling stuffy—just really good food with great energy.

Other options worth considering: Le Cirque for classic French elegance or Joël Robuchon if you want to splurge on a true culinary experience.

Casual but Delicious

Not every meal needs to be fancy. We always hit up The Henry at The Cosmopolitan for breakfast—it’s our favorite way to start the day. Their pancakes are amazing!

And if you’re wandering around hungry at 1 a.m.? Secret Pizza at the Cosmo is our go-to. No sign, no frills, just a good slice when you need one.

Sightseeing Adventures

Exploring Beyond the Strip

It’s easy to spend the entire trip within a few blocks of the Strip—but if you’re up for a little adventure, Vegas has some seriously cool sights beyond the casinos.

Red Rock Canyon: Nature’s Reset Button

About 30 minutes away from all the chaos is Red Rock Canyon. You can take a hike, have a picnic, and enjoy the peaceful scenery. It’s such a refreshing way to reset between all the bright lights and loud slots.

The High Roller: Sunset Goals

Want a romantic view without hiking? The High Roller is perfect. It’s the tallest observation wheel in the world and the sunset views over the city are incredible. Bonus: you can get a cabin with a bar and they have a happy hour!

The Sphere: Worth the Hype

This new venue is a total game changer. We saw Postcard from Earth and Backstreet Boys, and both were AMAZING! Between the sound, visuals, and tech, it feels like you’re in a different world. Definitely book something here if it lines up with your trip—this place is must see!

Let's talk spas

After all that walking, dancing, and drinking? We needed a spa day. Or two.

Aria Spa = My Happy Place

I have been to a few, but Aria’s spa is the one I keep coming back to. It has everything: a Himalayan salt room (so soothing), heated stone beds (you’ll melt), steam rooms, hot tubs, and more. You don’t even need to book a service to enjoy the space—some days they offer day passes, so you can just go in and bliss out for a few hours. Highly recommend for couples who want to unwind together without the pressure of a packed itinerary.

Hotels: Choosing the Right Vegas Hotel

Las Vegas hotels are almost as exciting as the rest of the trip. Whether you want all-out luxury or something quieter and off-Strip, there’s a place that’ll fit your vibe.

Here’s what we consider when booking:

  • On the Strip vs. Off-Strip – Being in the center of it all is fun, but off-Strip hotels can be more peaceful (and often more budget-friendly).

  • Purpose of your trip – If you’re in town for a show or concert, stay close to the venue. It makes life easier.

  • Amenities – Pools, spas, restaurants, or even just solid room service—make sure your hotel has what you care about.

  • Deals + Packages – Sometimes hotels bundle show tickets, spa credits, or meal vouchers, so keep an eye out!

If you’re curious, we stayed at The Cosmopolitan on our first trip—and honestly, it was perfect for us. The modern design, amazing dining options, and central Strip location made everything super convenient. If you can, book a balcony room overlooking the Bellagio fountains—it’s absolutely breathtaking and totally worth it.

On our most recent trip, we switched things up and stayed at Vdara. It’s a non-smoking, non-gaming hotel, which makes it a great choice for couples or families looking for a more peaceful, laid-back atmosphere—without sacrificing location. There’s a convenient walkway that connects Vdara to both The Cosmopolitan and Bellagio, so you’re just steps from all the action, minus the noise and crowds.

The rooms are spacious and come with a full kitchenette, which is perfect if you want the option to prep a quick breakfast or late-night snack. You can also book a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains, and the best part? Vdara is usually more affordable than other upscale hotels on the Strip—making it a solid value for the comfort and location.

Final Thoughts: Why We Keep Coming Back

Vegas is one of those places that truly has something for every kind of couple—romantic dinners, adrenaline-filled shows, peaceful hikes, and yes, spa days where you barely talk because you're both that relaxed. We always leave feeling reconnected, recharged (okay, maybe a little tired too), and already talking about what we’ll do next time.

So if you’re thinking about booking a couples trip to Las Vegas—do it. Go for the fun, stay for the memories, and don’t forget to eat the pizza.
